Yes, she should be somewhere between 95, and 130 pounds. That's actually the ideal weight of an adult at five feet. According to the chart in the link, she is a little more than overweight, but not obese. But no need to worry! She's going through a stage where it's very easy for her to shed pounds. And, it's probably going to come off anyways once she hits a few growth spurts coming her way. Also, at 12, there are many ways to get her to go out and be active, as well as maintain an easy diet. Help her get fit now! In a couple years it will become very hard for her!

Ok, its time to get her to the gym, because she is CLINICALLY OBESE! School phys ed. is not nearly enough for most children if thats what you were counting on. I hate to have you and/or her worried about her weight at such a young age, but this is where it becomes hazardous to her health. If this is not stopped now, she will be set up for major problems later on in life including higher risk for heart disease, high blood pressure, and so many more diseases and conditions. These problems can start in as little as 6 or more years from now - which, believe me, will go fast!

A healthy weight for someone of 5 feet is about 125. But if she has a big bust, count on 5 lbs extra weight being added. ^^; I'm nearly an E cup, so I generally count my weight as being scale - 10. They wiegh more than you'd think. But in any case, trying using a Body Mass Index calculator on the web to try and find your daughter's healthy weight range. most girls her age are underweight... so as long as she's in the healthy range, even at the heavy end of it, don't pressure her to loose more weight. Try to concentrate on being healthy, rather than being thin.

Yes. She is overweight. Usually, it is 100 lbs at 5 feet, but if she is large-breasted, she should probably weigh closer to 110 lbs. At her age, I would take her to the doctor and get a referral to a nutritionist because she is still growing and many diets out there are harmful, especially to teenagers.

she's a little chunky. but has SHE ever approacher YOU about her weight? any concerns on her part? if not, I don't think you should "butt-in." she IS your step-daughter...she might very well get offended by your concerns...

No, you should not worry.

try cooking more healthy foods. do you work-out? maybe if you go for a walk/ jog you can ask her if she wants to join you...something like, "I'm going for a jog, wanna come?" something that sounds VERY nonchalant...don't make it seem as though she NEEDS to go with you.

if you DO decide to approach this matter, make sure you do it with great care.

good luck and God bless

I am 12, and i dont mean this to be rude. You step daughter should just be happy and if shes not happy about how she looks, she should tell you if she hasnt told you she feels odd then dont worry about it.
