it does its the citric acid in the fruit that causes it. Just dont eat too much I like to eat it with melon to mellow it out and balance the Ph.

Pineapple is a fruit that has a sweet-sour taste. The sweet part comes from sugar. The sour part comes from plant acids. The acids are very weak ones and won’t hurt you. But they are likely to leave your tongue feeling a little strange.

Nope. If your tongue is feeling burnt you might want to talk to the doctor to be sure you aren't having a reaction or you might try cutting your servings back as people react differently to foods.

My daughter, who is also a fair skinned blond, gets terrible chapped lips and sore mouth from eating pineapple. I think perhaps both of you are hyper sensitive to the acid, maybe because of your colouring. And like her you probably love it.

Yup. I think you have to dip it in honey or just stop eating when you get to the ouch threshold.
