Age was never a factor for me in a relationship as long as they were at least 18. I was married to a wonderful man who was 30 yrs. my senior. I never felt any different than any other couple. We've been together 19 yrs. now.

Over 18, age does not matter. It's a personal preference.

.....However.....

If Person "A" is 18 when she/he starts dating person "B", and person B is say........ 40?

Unless person A is EXTREMELY mature for his/her age, an 18 year old and a 40 year old would be in completely different places in their lives, maturity and othwerwise.

If person B has a lot in common with an 18 year old, within a few years person A will become more mature than person B and they will find that they are incompatible after all.

See what i'm saying?

People really keep maturing until around the age 21.

Now, if both people are 21 and up, I doubt there will be a problem, if they are both compatible now.

Age is only a number.

I can't say how old is too old...... When I was 18 I wa dating a man in his late 40's. It doesn't matter, so long as you are compatible. :)

It will matter eventually. My husband and I are 11 years apart, and when he was in his 30's when we met, age didn't matter. He's in his late 40's now and we both want very different things out of life. I want very different things now than I did in my early years when we married, and we don't often mesh like we used to. Love is not enough all the time. How old is too old depends on the personalities of the people involved. My personal experience is that if I'd known then in my 20s what I know now 15 years later, I would not have married someone that much older, regardless of the love we had then. People change, regardless of their ages, sometimes those changes don't bring people closer together. Not trying to come off as bitter, just taking an honest look at it, because it's not a fairytale.

If you are truly in love (and as you said, adults only here), age does not matter. No one can tell you how old is too old. You either have a connection and common interests with this person, or you don't. My boyfriend is MUCH younger than I am, and when we first started dating; all we heard was, "this won't last long". We've been together almost 5 years.

Listen to your heart, not other people. If it's not really love, it will fizzle out soon enough. Don't pass up something wonderful because of other people's narrow views on love. It's your life, your heart and your decision. Good luck :-)

i imagine it relies upon. some age gaps at the on the spot are not that vast of a deal yet some could be purely disgusting. Like case in point I no a pair it really is about 15 years aside. Now-no huge deal, yet when one in each of them became less than 18, then the region would have occured. yet no individual extremely listens to that regulation in any case. yet I also no this 18 year previous woman who's courting a 40 8 year previous guy. Is that a criminal offense, no...yet its ill. i imagine if its that vast of an age hollow, it concerns.

I believe that it doesn't matter unless the legal system can use that as an excuse to get involved...
(that, however, doesn't change the love)

Age different realtionships can and usually does have a different peer pressure, can YOU BOTH take that?
(that, however, doesn't change the love)

These only change whether you can be together or not, with enough love I believe you can overcome all challenges.

"how old is too old ?"
I didn't know there was. How old do YOU think is too old?

It depends on your comfort level. Me personally I would put the breaks on if someone was over the age of 45 (I'm 29) because then the guy is too close to my fathers age and that would goob me out...big time. Also I don't think that I could be with someone who 21 because I would feel they are to young and I would be holding them back from experiencing life as it seems to me that a 29 year old and a 21 year old would probably want very different things, but I could be wrong...but like I said it depends on you and what your experiences are and what you want and like in someone...

once you're over the age of 18, age does not matter. Only the two people involved can decide waht is too old.

I have been asking the same question. I like a guy who is 56, and I am 47. He says he is too old for me. All I see is a guy that is sweet, kind, and romantic that has so much in common with me. We love old movies, baseball and quiet barefoot walks on the beach. I say love has no age limit.
