He looks like a mean heavyweight, do you think he would be a good boxer in the heavyweight division?

Seriously? No...he's not in proper condition, he's doing too much weightlifting (which negates quickness, speed, stamina, and sharp crisp power in the punch), I can tell he doesn't have very good balance (probably due to burning weed-which also affects timing). But he has consulted with a couple of high level pro boxers; he wants to, but needs to seriously commit. If he did, he'd do well....has the right shoulders and right type of hands. I boxed amateur and pro, and coached and trained; you develop an eye for spotting things like these.

I did something I normally don't do before I reply, I actually read all of the comments/ answers. There are a few intelligent and factual ones there. I do not believe that 50Cents would make a good heavyweight. First of all, he couldn't take the power. If Roy Jones Jr who has been boxing for his whole life couldn't habdle the heavyweights how in the world could this gangsta(?), rapper. In case you didn't notice, 50's grill is not without flaw. He was shot in the face. I don't think his jaw is made of steel. If anything this is one of the main reasons he wouldn't make it. A facial injury of this type, or you kidding me. The first time 50 gets hit by a heavy in the face with a heavy blow he's quitting. Besides that, boxing demands discipline, time, and, concentration. If all you need to be is tough, mean, and, big to be a fighter how come wrestlers and other pro(?) athletes don't do it. Or ex-cons? Or construction workers? Or the toughest guy that you know? Ask him how come he doesn't become a fighter? 50's past, present and head, not to mention his face, are all factors in why I believe that he would not be a good heavyweight. As a matter of fact, this should be a music/entertainment question.

A 50-cent piece having no arms and legs is at a disadvantage but being made of some type of metal alloy makes it tough to break down with a boxing glove. I believe the 50-cent piece's weight would put him in the flyweight category. Now if he was to increase in value to a $1000 bill, then he could move up to the heavyweight division. Word.

If he actually trained professionally as a boxer, he might do well, if he's intelligent at his moves. But as of now, he's just like the majority of guys out there who are big, got into a few fights, and had novice boxing training to some degree, but hasn't made professional boxing his life, which makes a real boxer. But he may have potential.

I mean, I've read how he brags about boxing, but he never explained why he didn't decided to become a real professional boxer. If he's the man at it already, why not do that instead of rapping? Or do both? Clearly because he knows it takes a lot more to be a grat boxer than whats he may be capable of. And there are sacrifices.

The most I've heard about this clown is from a PLAYBOY interview. I just read the blurbs and saw that I didn't want to read any more. He boasted about being shot nine times. I wrote to the mag and said that someone was a poor marksman and used an inadequate gun if that's true. I hate rap, so I wouldn't want to read more about anyone who raps. Just because this guy has a big mouth and is obnoxious like Cassius Clay doesn't mean he'd be a boxer. He's probably too lazy for the intense training needed, and he already has a career...if that's what one calls it.

Nah he would try to whip his arms like a wet noodles then cover his face up as he got pounded on the face by anyone with some boxing skill and he will go down quickly.

My friend, anyone can be a 'mean heavyweight' surrounded by their posse. That twenty ft. by twenty ft. inside a boxing ring is the loneliest place in the world. I know, I've been there.

Yeah since he claims he's been shot 50 times, why not be punched 50 more.

I somehow doubt it - he acts big b/c he was shot, but if you put him in a ring with a true boxer...let's put it this way: I'd pay to see it! lol.
