Every time a person says that the U.S cannot invade Iran a bunch of patriots come and brag about how America has stealth technology and they can whoop any country with 17,000 nukes.
Why do Americans like to under estimate their rivals every time they are victorious. By asking this question everyone will say
that I am from a 3rd world country and that America will bomb my
home and stuff. How many of you people actually think that the U.S
can do Iran like Iraq. I don't like iran and I like America for what you people stand for but is it time to grow up and face the facts that
America just can't throw some fire crackers at everyone
that piss them off without taking tolls.

Because it seems some people in the states are always hungry for war and searching for enemies. CIA trained Bin Laden in the 80s to fight the Soviets. After breakdown of the Soviet Union they searched for a proper enemy which will make the war machine continue and the weapon industry grows. The Islamic groups are good ones. They are stupid enough to make some usless but terrifying attacks and in the same time they don't make a big threat like China or North Korea...Neither peaceful nor deadly...just let war continue..After Afghanistan why attacking and invading Iraq? All the reasons mentioned by Bush for that war were false....Iran is not threatning the states anyhow...It may threat Israel but not a real threat enough to make another illegal war....It's their buisiness and nothing else. Of course some others believe them and keep supporting them in the media . This all sucks

I actually agree with you and I'm a patriot. We do have some awesome weapons, but it's a bit more complicated than just dropping bombs on everyone. Most patriots don't feel that way. If you stay on yahoo answers for a few days you see a little of everything.

People saying we are losing in Iraq. We aren't people. Check out the numbers if you don't believe me. We have a great military. If not the best. (Which I personally believe.) Then one of the best.

I have to laugh when people start talking about nuking someone. We DO NOT WANT nukes being used. That's crazy talk.

That said IRAN may force us into invading. They are dangerous and should be treated as such.

We certainly do have the capabilities to invade Iran if we wanted. If you have ever seen a missle hit a target, it is not exactly like a "firecracker" going off. I know people have different views about the war, and I can respect that. I am on active duty in the military, and I've been to the war, and I know that it pretty much sucks for everyone involved. I don't know where you live or what your situation is, so this may not apply to you- but so many people love to sit in their nice homes and criticize us for what we do, but they have no idea what it is actually like to be in a war. However, you have to understand that, that is our job. That is what we are trained to do. The American public may underestimate the countries that we invade, but from our perspective I do not think that we do. We understand that we will take casualities when we enter a country, we understand that we might not get home. Why would anyone do that? Because, we believe in what we do (or most of us.) We would rather fight terrorist over there, than have to fight them here at home where our friends and families are at risk. Also it kind of gets us mad when we see people getting beheaded and snipers opening up on crowds of people. I know people will say " well America kills innocent people too". That is true, innocent people die in war, and that is unfortunate, but I can honestly tell you that 99% of American troops try very hard not to hurt innocent civilians. The bottom line is war sucks, and people get hurt, but sometimes it has to be done. Do you really want Iran shooting a nuculear warhead at you in a few years?

The US cannot invade Iran until the Americans come to grips with the world they live in. Americans do not want to win wars, because winning wars requires bloody hands. The only honest foreign policy is imperialism. When you go to invade a country, it should be to conquer it and make it yours. America won't follow natural instinct, and so it will continue to make a fool of itself in places like Vietnam, Somalia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Iran would just be another embarrassment. Besides, the next President will be a cowardly Democrat anyways.

Ok..Just a few facts to consider:
1. The Iranian president Ahmadinejad has made several statements that are worrisome about Israel...that they should and would be wiped off the map etc.
2. Iran is refusing to cooperate with pleas from the rest of the world to suspend nuclear weapons development.
3. Iran has persisted in supplying Hezbollah with rockets and other equipment used to attack Israel.
4. Iran has made several vague statements over the last month referring to an event to take place on Aug. 22nd. One report was that they promissed the sky would be "lit up".
It is now Aug. 20th and while certainly Iran does not have nuclear weapons yet one can only guess what Irans "surprise" is. We can not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons pure and simple. Debate the fairness of that statement all day, it just isn't going to happen. Somehow they must be stopped. No one wants war with Iran. I believe there are many good people in Iran, but somehow their nuclear ambitions have to be put in check. I'd rather see the Iranian people take control of this situation themselves before this mad man brings them problems.

The only time we have ever under estimated any enemy other than in Nam. We took Iraq in 3 weeks and that was while fighting a political war. If we could do it the way we wanted we could have Iran in about 3 hours.

Above. You must know. How many times have you visited. I personally have talked to 6 people who were fighting there and they told me differently. You are an idiot. You have no Idea what is going on over there. We have set up fire stations, police stations, 22 universitys, held 3 elections, liberated an enitire country, 98% of the people are glad we are there, we lost only 2600 troops in 3 years, and we are currently establishing a democracy...how is that a mess. You are more likely to get shot in Detroit than in Iraq. Those are my facts were are yours.

Iranian government is a shame for Iranians and the world but they never had a good relationship with Al Qaede and Bin ladan because of defferent religion and ideology, Iran is the only Shiete muslim country and Al Qaede is Vahhabi Muslim the most vicious enemy of Shiete people,
Vahhabies don't consider Shietes as a Muslim, they consider them as a sect and they have to kill them.
So Iran helped U.S. in Afghanistan and Iraq and priminister of Iraq and president of Afghanistan are friends of Iran now and they have the same idiology.
The most important problem between Iran and U.S. is Hezbollah and Hamas that are fighting to Israel not U.S.
If U.S. helps the peace process between palestinians and Israel, there can be a friendship between Iran and U.S. and even Israel.
Iran is begging for a better relationship with U.S. for many years, sending messages from Iranian presidents and openning Iranian market to U.S. and having a good relationship with European countries, helping U.S. in Iraq and Afghanistan and etc.
There is also a power struggle in Iran betweem politicians who want to make the first improvement in U.S.-Iran relations themselves not the other party.
Also, when reformists didn't see constructive response from U.S. they lost the competition to hardliners but these hardliners also are willing to make the first improvement in U.S. relations to guarantee their power.
Anyways starting a direct conversation and warmer relationship with Iran is very usefull in moderating Iranian foreign policy and giving up the nuclear peoliferation, Examples: China, Egypt
Iran has lots of internal problems and wishes to solve problems with U.S. as soon as possible, but without losing the face, because they are not hopefull about U.S. respond. And many of them believe that U.S. dicided already to attack Iran soon or late.
U.S. pressure or attack or sunctions leaves no choice for reformists other than sticking to national benefits for now. and gives hardlinesrs a good excuse for stoping democracy movement.

Don't be put off your views by how other people react. After the problems in Iraq there will be no intention by the US to start another war with Iran. They may consider bombing but this will also have undesirable consequences.

Invading Iran is not a solution to terrorism and these patriots should look for alternative peaceful measures to counter terrorism just like legal protests to be lodged with the UN and the latter to act as a world government.

America is the world's only superpower. We CAN throw fire crackers if we wanted to but we are a democracy and debate whether throwing firecrackers is justified.

No need to occupy Iran...just bomb the nuke sites/missiles/air force.
