You need to wean yourself off of the caffeine and sugar. You also need to ween yourself off the mouthfeel of the product also.
1) Dilute your regular Coke with diet Coke water, try 1/4 Diet - 3/4 Coke. Do this for one week
2) Then 1/2 Diet 1/2 Regular
3) 2/3 Diet 1/3 Regular
4) Then repeat the process with Diet and Diet and Caffeine free
5) Then repeat the process with Diet Caffeine Free and Soda water.
You also have to want to accomplish this so make it visible how much money you're saving, or could be saving.

Its gonna be hard but you know its not good for you. Drinking that amount of coke is gonna pile on the pounds also...I suggest you start by cutting down.........cutting it out completely is not good. Coca-Cola like anything else is a drug. I wouldn't suggest you drink a diet or caffeine version either.... try substituting a can of coke with something like a fresh juice instead. Hope you beat your addiction.

You need to quit cold-turkey. Don't buy any, get rid of any that is in the house, and just do not drink a single sip from now on. You'll probably be tired early for a few days, but after that you will feel much better.

I agree with everyone else, cold turkey!
Or, depending on how fast you want it done... (meaning not fast), then just portion it out... start with your "5" cans a day and pour some out of llast can until you've gotten to 4 cans a day.. then do the same to the '4th' can until you are down to 3 then 2 then one can for the whole day.. then go cold turkey for the one can. The caffeine headache hopefully won't be so bad. Weaning yourself might be nicer to your head. Best of luck.

UGH! I feel your pain! My problem is coffee...
My Lego vascillates b/n coffee & Coke, so he has it even worse! LOL! We've both been trying to make healthier lifestyle choices, but it's not easy.
One thing for sure---if you're used to having so much caffeine every day, DON'T try to just stop!! Many people don't realize that caffeine is a kind of, ummm...well I hate to use the word 'drug', but basically, it is! Caffeine withdrawl headaches just suck!!!
Try limiting yourself---like, by the time of day or something. And reduce your intake gradually.
Best of luck...!

There is a group that you might want to try. It's a 12 step program that has a very high success rate. It takes great discipline and determination, but if you give it your all, you will succeed. It starts with admitting your addiction and...oh wait, it's just Coke you crave. My suggestion...stop being a wimp and get over it.

So, basically, our suggestions of other drinks isn't going to help..
Drank any of the diet dr. pepper's lately? They are very good.. and your problem is the sugar which has you addicted..
Plus, unless you are very active, soon those cokes will start mounting up and running ain't going to be possible..
I quit regular cokes after drinking them for 35 years.. You can do it too.

Sounds like you're a caffeine addict!
Alternate between drinking regular Cola and a caffeine free variety to help you cut down.

try to start eating healthier, its not hard, and excersize. excersizing mauy seem that it would make you more tired but you will feel more energized when your body has been working. running x-country is an excellent start. basically all you need to do to quit coke is to just stop buying it and drinking it, just think to yourself your not gonna get it because it ebentually will kill you, just like the other coke (the white powder kind)
