would you be offended if your daughter tried to help settle the kids down, or tell them to behave?

for some reason my mom does. i can't tell my sister to "quit running around like a monkey and act your age" without my mom going bizerk and going "you're not the parent!".

is this weird? i mean i'm 15 and SHE'S the one treating me like i'm 5 and i have no voice in the house D=

I have five children and it would be a blessing if I had you around. My oldest doesn't do anything to help me around the house much less to calm the other kids down. If anything he gets them more upset at times.

Maybe she feels like you are doing a better job at being the parent than she is and she is feeling a little jealous at the way they respond to you. If they are listening to you rather than to her than it probably bothers her.

However if you are doing it in a manner that seems to be out of aggravation on your part it may be adding to her stress. It is a very hard job being a mom and none of us are perfect. Try to cut her a little slack....and hopefully she will come to appreciate that you are trying to help her out.

I know if you were my daughter I would hug you just for the effort!

There's nothing wrong with telling you little sis to behave.
You are older teaching her discipline and respect is you job.
When I was your age I had to take care of my siblings and they
were 6 ,4 ,2weeks old. now that was challenging. so tell your mom that you understand.

If I was her, I'd appreciate ANY help I could get with the rest of the kids!
