That afican americans have an extra muscle in their leg? Surely not right? If so what if they are half caucasian or some other race, do they get the muscle or not? Weird question i know, but i have always heard this. I think it is a dumb statement.

In a nationally representative telephone and mail survey conducted in 1996, African Americans were found to be less likely than white Americans to receive appropriate care for depression or anxiety. Appropriate care was defined as care that adheres to official guidelines based on evidence from clinical trials. (Wang et al., 2000). Similar findings emerged in another large study that examined a representative national sample (Young et al., 2001). One large study of antidepressant medication use included all Medicaid recipients who had a diagnosis of depression at some time between 1989 and 1994 (Melfi et al., 2000). This study found that African Americans were less likely than whites to receive an antidepressant when their depression was first diagnosed (27% versus 44%). Of those who did receive antidepressant medications, African Americans were less likely to receive the newer selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) medications than were the white clients. This is important because the SSRIs have fewer troubling side effects than the older antidepressants; therefore, they tend to be more easily tolerated, and patients are less likely to discontinue taking them. Failure to treat with SSRI medications may be widespread and might help to explain African American overrepresentation in inpatient facilities and emergency rooms. Also, in a large study of older community residents followed from 1986 through 1996, whites in 1986 were nearly twice as likely, and in 1996, alomst 4 times more likely, to use an antidepressant than were African Americans

Ever since African Americans were allowed to participate in professional sports there has been the talk of "an extra muscle" in their legs that allows them to run faster and jump higher than their European counterparts.

Just know their build is kinda unique and thats why they can jump higher and react faster ..such as those basketball players. Their leg muscle contracts is a bit different from others.. I think i once read a magazine and it said something like this

I always thought that we were all made the same on the inside. The only differences is in colors on the outside, which makes us all equal.
I agree, dumb statement.

Africans do tend to have leg muscles attatched higher on the back than europeans. This is one reason why they are predisposed to jump higher. This is not racist it is just a fact of science. However. . . in america the blacks behavior of being ghetto scum and selling drugs, pimping whores, killing each other. . and being gangster wannabes is a learned behavior. That is why we need self serving black leaders like Jesse Jackson to be positive influences on their culture and stop making excuses for their horrible behavior.

I've never heard of that. I don't think it's true.
Wait a minute? Only African-Americans? So Africans and European-Africans or Asian-Africans don't have the muscle? Only African-Americans? Come on!!! (''/)
