you can either cut it into circles (if your planning on frying it) or freeze it whole. Just put it in a ziplock bag and make sure the air is sqeezed out and seal tightly. Okra keeps for about 3-4 years as long as the seal isnt disturbed.
echo has it right....make sure its washed first. DO NOT BATTER IT FIRST!!! THAT WILL RUIN IT!! you dont batter okra until your ready to cook it.

Bring a large (GLASS) pot of water to a boil, don't use metal with okra. Put all of the okra in at once to just "shock" it and take it out right away, place in freezer bags and freeze.

all i have ever done is cut it up rinse it .go ahead and mix it with ur corn meal salt and pepper lay it on a paper towel for a few sec and put it in freezer bags...
