Why do people in the West sexually abuse their own children?

In Islam the woman marries the man of her choice. She may even marry someone that her mother and/or father objects to. The point is that it is the woman who makes the final decision as to whom she will marry. Once the man and the woman decide that they are interested in one another for marriage, a dowry is decided upon. A dowry is not a bride's price but, it is a gift from the groom to the bride. They agree upon a gift that is affordable by the groom. In the time of the Prophet (sas), often things such as livestock and money were given. This is a wise decision in the event that a woman becomes divorced or widowed, she has some financial security to fall back on even if it is for a limited amount of time. Once the man and woman are married, the man is required to clothe, feed, shelter and educate her (or allow her to be educated) in the same manner as he does himself.

Men and women in the so-called free world are “free” to have as many mistresses among the majority slave population as they wish. In the West today, most married men have extramarital relations with mistresses, girlfriends and prostitutes. Consequently the Western claim to monogamy is false. Such situation of anarchy, when left unchecked “because people are free to do what they want” for some time, in the basic unit of the society, i.e. the family, can find its way to the very roots of the whole society and then destabilize its whole structure.

Just as you described the majority face of professed Christians, the comments also show the face of professed Islam. Unfortunately, the bad examples are what are seen on the surface. In Islam and in Christianity, there are those who truly try to follow the inspired scripture of God. They do not sexually abuse children or have affairs and respect their marriage mates. But from our opposite sides of the lines, we cannot see though the bad examples.

In Islam, women are property, not even 2nd rate citizens. Islam is one of the most oppressive, degrading religions and cultures to women. If any male member of the family feels that a woman has dishonored the family, say because she was looking at a guy not approved by the family, or if she had contact with a person, sexual or platonic, that member will kill her to maintain the honor.

Honor is very important in Islam. Women are abused constantly and have very little rights against the abuse of men. Lets not forget that only last year women were given voting rights in Saudi Arabia. Islam is a violent, barbaric religion and culture that has not been evolved since the days of Muhammed.

I am sick and tired to read and hear that Islam is a religion of "peace." Well, thank Allah Islam is such a "peaceful" religion(!) Can you imagine if it weren't??!

I think you may overstate your case ("In the West today, most married men have extramarital relations with mistresses, girlfriends and prostitutes."), but you do make a valid point. Freedom in the West does indeed include the freedom to be an abject failure as a human being.

As to people in the West who sexually abuse their children, those who abuse their children in the West do it for the same reason they do anywhere (it's not a problem that only occurs in the West). They're sick mentally ill reprehensible folk who need the help of institutionalization.

And the Middle Ease is not without its depravities. I just noticed elsewhere where "Pill of Truth" posted this article in Al Jazeera about "honor killings" where in Jordan, men who kill women to uphold what is perceived as "honor" receive very light sentences. You are operating under an illusion. You assume that ALL men in the Western world that are married are having an affair - have you verified this? Where is your PROOF??? And if you think that child abuse is only happening in the Western world, try a visti to Thailand - the pedophile capital of the world. It is a well known fact that within Muslim cultures they will kill their children if they dare to fall in love with someone who is not a Muslim.

Another fact is that for the Muslim man, he may marry up to four wives and the women have no say in the matter.

Another fact is the widespread practice of a marriage of convenience by many Muslim men who marry a woman for a night then divorce her in the morning and in the twisted mind of a Muslim man, that isn't considered adultery.....go figure.

Another well know fact is that the raping of women is extremely common and practiced in Islamic countries.

The world has ways now that news travels further and faster than ever before. EVERY culture in EVERY country has sexual abuse happening. I am muslim from lebanon and i live in Kuwait, and i agree with the people who said that women in muslim countries don't have any right, because this is very true. Even men here don't have rights, people here are not allowed to have sex before marriage, men are not allowed to touch girls, people here don't have right to change there religion, people here are not allowed to express there opions freely, girls here don't have any right, they are not allowed to anything, girls here just stays isolated in home. People here are stuped and they don't do anything in there life and people here just waste there time on praying and teaching Islam. Also, People here are trouble makers and they are very violance.



In comparison, people in westren world have the right to do any thing, they have the right to choose their own religion, people have the right to express there opinion freely, people in westren countries are open to other cultures, Women their have the same right as men, people in the west are more advanced in science and technology, and people in the west love life and they love their countries.

First, you have grouped a whole group of people into one group. You are saying that everyone who lives in the west abuses their children. That is so untrue. It is just like saying that all Muslims are terrorists. Again an untrue statement. The people who do abuse children are very sick (in many ways) people, that a lot of people I know feel should be thrown to the wolves and not given a reprieve. I just feel they should be castrated or have their hands cut off. My husband treasures our children. He loves them very much and God forbid someone should harm them.
