Christians are being persecuted around the world, primarily in Muslim countries, but also in Communist countries.
I have come across a couple of cases of Christians being crucified by anti-Christians within the last 2-3 years. Very unfortunate.

Yes - maybe not physical crucifixion but anything that's at odds with dogmatic fundamentalism (religious or secular) usually results in at least a character crucifixion.
