Wrong? No. It is good to realize that you may not be ready to take on this lifetime responsibility. It is NOT a disgrace to put her up for adoption to a better home and wait until you are ready for another dog or cat.
Or get help. Training classes, the Library, Watch the Dog Whisperer on Cable, talk to friends. Talk to the vet. There is lots of help out there!

You have to give yourself a chance to bond with her. If you are finding that you cannot give yourself the time then find her a good home as soon as possible before she becomes too attached to you. Quite a while ago I was in the midst of adopting a lovely female puppy from an animal shelter and as I was waiting for them to get her ready I looked up and saw a sign that said, "this is a fifteen year commitment". I kissed her goodbye and walked away. Sometime later I found I was ready for that commitment and now have a wonderful Sheltie, who is now 12 years old.

Well that was a bad decision getting a dog if you are having "second thoughts" about having a dog. Its not fair to penelope so just do whatever you can. She needs you so do not give her away. Take her to puppy training school and learn how to potty train a dog and give her commands. Do whatever you can to not become bored with her. Good Luck!

You shouldn't just buy a dog cuz it's cute or that you want one! You should've taken the time where ever you bought her from and atleast spent a lot of time with her to see if you two were compatible. Now you either give her up or try your luck. There will be a lot of hard times ahead with a puppy, but she could become the love of your life and you hers.

Yes, it is wrong. You have had plenty of time to think about getting a new pet. How can you bring a little dog into your home and already want to kick her out? Find someone to love her and then get a pet rock. They don't have feelings.

when I got my Ferret Desire', I almost immediately began looking for a new home for her. I didn't realize how much work ferrets are! But in the midst of my search, I found I had grown to love her very much. We worked out our differences, she got some training and we came to an understanding. Just have patience, puppies do take a lot of work, but you will grow to love her.

Try it out. If it is too much for you then give her to the SPCA or to a friend or family member.. somewhere you know she will be well taken care of.
Dont feel badly about not being able to care for her. dogs are alot of work, and they require alot of time and patience and some people cannot accomodate that.
As long as you make sure she goes somewhere she is loved and looked after it will be ok.

If you aren't sure you want her, please take her back. It isn't fair to either of you. Let her have a good home now while she is a pup and more adoptable.
You should wait until you are sure whether you want a pet at all and, if so, what kind. There's no rush.

There are too many animals in this world that are in need of good homes. You took on the responsibility, now you should take care of the dog. Besides, they are fun. And good companions.
