My chihuahua is going into heat. At what point in the cycle is the best time to breed her with my male? When do I know its time?

If this is her first heat, you should not breed her. You need to wait until she is 18 months -2 years before breeding her. During that time you should read everything you can on raising puppies, what to expect at each stage of the process from breeding to whelping to weaning the pups. If you know a breeder, get her advice and help along the way. A lot of Chihuahuas have to have c-sections. Are you prepared for the cost? An emergency c-section at the vet in the middle of the night could run $1500, according to where you live. Plus they may have only one or 2 pups, specially the first time.

A dog is ready to breed during the second week of her heat cycle. Normally days 10-14 are the best days.

I have no idea but i have a chihuahua and love her to death! Ask your vet. They can help you out all the way through the pregnancy and into the birth. The vet can also determine if your dog is healthy enough or old enough or ready to have a litter. They will even help you deliver the puppies in your home or the hospital.

2nd week is usually the best time breed her every 2 days for 3 matings you can calculate the due date by counting 63 days after first mating and that is the due date

That depends on how many puppies you want. The nearer to the end of her cycle she is bred, the more pups she will have. She has the greatest chance of getting pregnant and having many puppies by breeding her at the very end, after the red blood has ended and the clear discharge has begun.
