yes and no, depends on the circumstances, how long you have known him/her and how well you know him/her... never meet anyone alone or not in public for the first few times, you NEVER know how anyone is when you meet on the internet.... just be extremely careful, better careful than dead. if the person says no to a public meeting, then say no

I met my girl through my brother, he knew her just from ims on yahoo, then we hit it off and just kept talking and talking untill finnally we decided to meet, she lived in cali and i was in missouri, we met at the airport of course, she bought a ticket where she could go back right away if she wanted to and we stayed at the airport restaruant for quite awhile before we went anywhere....

we have now known eachother for two years and been together 10 months and I moved to cali and we are getting married in april.

just be extremely cautious no matter what

It would depend on a lot of things. Because I am honest and truthful I take it for granted that everyone else is honest and truthful too. I have been disappointed a few times and have to keep remembering not to be so gullible.

Now if I was asked to meet someone through email the first thing that would come to mind would be that film that I love "You've Got Mail". See, I am a hopeless romantic as well as being too trusting.....but caution would step in to save me from myself, and if I really wanted to meet this person, I would make a few arrangements.

I would tell the person if he/she wanted to meet me then it would be during the day. I would also say that I had asked a friend to come along also, which I would have done. It could be for a coffee or something simple like that. If we liked each other when we met then another "date" could be arranged. He/she could join me and my friends on some outing, and so on, until I really got to know all about the person. Then and only then would I think about a meeting on my own and even then it would be in a public place.

You just cannot be too careful these days, more's the pity, but if he/she really wanted to get to know you I'm sure all the company wouldn't be a problem.

You know a thought just crossed my mind...would you think that name you have on here is a little....."hot", I know it's a fun thing on here and all that, and I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it. Just look at mine "Learner", chosen because I mangled the whole thing on here when I joined, and I used the name of the person who asked the first question that I answered. Had to fix that in a hurry. Anyway what I wondered was would the person asking to meet you have gotten the wrong idea from your name. Just a thought.

You never know everything could be wonderful. Just give it a bit of thought before you decide. Hope it works out well for you. Cheers.

I would be very careful about that. You don't know if this person has been telling you the trough or not. I emailed someone who was really married, but he said he was single. I found out before I met him.

People tell you what they want you to think. Not everyone is honest. You really should never meet with someone you have emailed.

No it's too risky but if you went ahead and were thinking of it I would say no addresses or home numbers exchanged public place in daylight and bring along two friends

No, I don't email or IM anyone on here, unless I know them!
