The absolute best thing you can do for both you and your labrador is to take a dog obedience course. Your local community college might have something available. They take all ages of owners and dogs, I'm pretty sure.
You will learn first hand how to best control your dog, and the dog will learn that you are the "alpha" human and he/she will listen to you. I did this with my year old black lab and within two classes we had a whole new understanding and he listened to me, and other humans. Part of it was learning how to speak to him, in a low.. very firm voice. Not a yell or a whine or begging him to be good.
Another pointer: Watch The Dog Whisperer on Cable TV (National Geographic). That guy really has it down and teaches people how to train their dogs to be good companions.

She needs positive reinforcement as well as negative reinforcement to train her properly. Discipline her when she jumps or bites, when she listens to you and stops then give her a treat and tell her she was good. Just not in an excited voice, this will make her get excited all over again.

Be firm and say No. As for the biting, puppies need to chew on things because of their teeth. Give him some good chewing toys to keep him away from other things like cords, shoes, etc.

Ehm..
If you want to stop unwanted behaviours of your dog you need to follow a good training course. One of the best I found online is http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=572
. It really helped me a lot. I saw very quick improvements thanks to some gentle, simple and effective tecniques they teach in the course
Hope it helps.
