Sometimes your body just craves things that you need. Maybe you are low on a mineral or vitamin that would cause this. There are all kinds of blood tests. A general blodd test only shows results for lipids and cholesterol and such, you may not have gotten the tests that you needed. I would let the doctor know, he may have an idea. In the meantime have your salt but go easy and know that you can very easily get way too salt will make you retain water wich will cause you to gain weight, feel bloated and your hands, ankles and face to swell. Also it is very bad on the blood pressure!! Just don't overdo it!! Everything in moderation!

As a guy (you are a guy right?) this is puzzling, but me as a woman got cravings for salty things... just before my monthly, all the time (week before my monthly).. I found that if I took an (1) iron pill (with OJ which helps with it's absorption) my cravings went away and I didn't not pig out on salty chips and everything else anymore. Try it, it couldn't hurt to take a little extra... see if it helps. If it continues, and you are still willing, check with doc about what amount would be the max that you could take and then try that. I wish you luck.

Because our bodies need natural salt, when we eat less than 0.007 ounces of natural salt per day, a salt craving kicks in. When we eat sodium chloride, it contains none of the nutrients our bodies need. Craving the nutrients found in natural salt, we eat more and more sodium chloride and set up a vicious cycle that results in more and more cravings.

It could be force of habit. You are lucky , as you appear to have got off with it so far. Just be aware salt can increase your blood pressure, make you sweat, bad for your heart and waterworks, and lots of other conditions which are preventable. Try to cut down gradually and attempt to change your diet for a month to see how you feel. Don't drink too much as this can jade the palate and you require lots of salt to even taste food. Go back to basics, eat healthily and good luck xx

actually yearning for eating some ingredient to get potential. Sugar or Salt is a private decision. In case of sugar purely a sprint piece of candy will do, yet in case of salt you may still desire to consume greater to sense filling. i individually choose salt dishes than sugar.

You could just be having an imbalance of electrolytes. Sometimes during the summer the heat can cause you to perspire your salts out of your body, thus you need to replenish them. Sometimes it is the kinds of food that you are in-taking that are causing it as well.
