There are legal ways for foreigners to get jobs in the US and immigrants should respect the laws of the country where they strive to earn their living. That is, they should only come here legally. Yes, cheaper labor does hurt many low income American families.
Some people need to ask themselves how many illegals take American jobs because they hate Americans... Not too many, I'm sure. They are here because they want to put some bread on their tables and could not do so where they were born.
Some people also need to think what kind of life those illegals were living in their own countries if they risk their lives to cross the border and work here in fear of being caught and on a below-poverty level wage. We don't have to sympathize with people who break the law, but at least we should try not to be consumed by hatred.

They install your carpet, windows, take city jobs for janitorial work, paint, put up dry wall, concrete, Gardener, every reception job that requires a bi-lingual (doesn't matter is your legal or not) clean your carpets. I will tell you what, this is a true story, I work in human resources, and no matter what type of job you are asking to be filled, when you do a back ground check, (for only 50 dollars each) then you find out that they will take any kind of job that doesn't care if the driver's license and social security card are fake.

Even if that WERE true, they are still Americans, and Americans should be the first ones to get American jobs ... look at the Netherlands ... it is forbidden in their labor laws to give a job to a foreigner if they haven't advertised it and given a Dutch person the first bite of the cherry ... only if no Dutch person applies or is fit for the job can it go to a foreigner ... now, the Dutch are liberal in their policies, but they're not stupid ...

What about the highest paying blue collar jobs available, Construction? I (a 48 y/o single father) and my crew leader (a 41 year old with a wife and new daughter) lost our jobs to hispanics who would work for less & not force the employer to pay "prevailing wage" for government contracted work...Painters, another good paying blue collar construction job, Framers another, Plumbers another...There aren't enough jobs left in America for Americans, with all the outsourcing...Why should we lose more jobs to people who don't bother to come here legally & earn thier rights like the rest of the LEGAL imigrants this country was founded with?

The fact of the matter is that illegals from mexico are taking those jobs from legal immigrants from mexico. Legal mexican immigrants are the ones being hit the hardest by these criminals. I do not want any illegals doing any of those jobs you mentioned. If they want to be house keepers then mexico should build more houses, cooks mexico should build more kitchens,picking produce mexico should develop more land. See my point?

since your comments directed this question at myself, i will provide you with some of my logic BEHIND it,
Personally, they have yet to take my job. Illegal aliens HAVE taken the jobs of many of my co-workers and my Family. When my son is old enough, I hope there are still entry level jobs like this available. I don't know about you German, but I wasn't born into a job. We all need to start somewhere. If the problem continues to escalate (Increase, gets worse), My job may become affected. But evidently this is where we differ, it is not all about me. It is My Livlihood, my family, and my country that concerns me. Put that in you hypocritical crack pipe and smoke it up.......

Illegals cannot take a job away from me. I am retired. I think all illegal immigrants should be removed from the US. Our laws should be enforced.
There are many jobs illegals get paid to do that legal residents can do for themselves.
