Talk to the restaurant supplying the food. They will have waiters who have the day off. You could hire them if you give them enough notice.

The easiest way would be if the restaurant you are getting the food from could provide a server or two for the reception. However, if they are unable to do that, you could put an ad around town (in restaurants, newspapers, etc) saying you're looking to hire some wait staff for your reception. Since I don't know where you live, I can't recommend specific companies but there are some staffing companies that you could approach to see if they could supply you with some wait staff. A lot of them tend to be administrative or technical based companies but some of them may be able to provide some wait staff for your event.
As a last resort, you could check with catering companies but they may give you a problem since you're not using their food.

You can put out an ad on Craig's List or you can call your local high school's guidance office to see if they can recommend a few people. Or you can call the restaurant and ask if you can hire a few of theirs.
Have them there 1/2 an hour before the reception starts to have them set up. Have a relative coordinate and make sure everything is going correctly, and pre-negotiate their pay.
Good Luck!

Set it up buffet style, then you don't have to mess with waiters. I would check with the restraunt, most have about double the wait staff they need (to work several shifts), so maybe they'll have a few extra who wouldn't mind picking up a spare shift to make a few extra bucks. Best of luck to you!

You can get some friend to help. Like say, your best friend has a little brother whos a teenager and needs some cash....... THERE YOU GO!! Just give them guidelines and a dress code. Oh and don't ask anyone who is already invited!

You could hire casual help, but why would you want to risk such a special day to that? Who will coordinate what they are to do and supervise? What recourse would you have should anything go wrong? Talk to a reputable catering company.

Ask the restaurant owner if he has several waiters you could hire for the event and make sure they are dressed in white shirts/blouses and black pants.

Just set it up as a buffet and let people help themselves. This way they can get what they want.
