Being a mom is the job of a lifetime .... and a lifetime job.

It is one of the most important jobs in the world, the most difficult and also the most rewarding. When you accept the role of being a mom, you are taking on that responsibility for the rest of your life, because no matter where your children go, no matter how their lives twist and turn, you will still be "Mom". I am a biological mom, a foster mom, a stepmom, a mother-in-law, and a grandma. The roles are all different, yet they are all the same in some ways. The key requirement is unconditional love. No matter what happens, no matter what they do, they must always know that they still have Mom's love, and that the full cost of her love is "no charge".

"Home is where, when you go there, they have to take you in."

"The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new." ~Rajneesh

This link gives a "mom" job description. I hope these thoughts help.

No, not at all. It is always difficult, but the ways in which it is difficult change as the kids grow up. As soon as you think you have it all figured out, they enter another stage of development that poses new challenges. It is rewarding too in that sense, it's a constant learning experience. Personally, I've found that the positives outweigh the negatives - it's the most difficult thing I'll ever do in my life, and it's what I love most.

No, it isn't easy in any way shape or form..being a mom is wonderful, you love your kids with every being of you. but it's scary and stressful and tiring, and frustrating, and just plain hard i would say a good 93% of the time. And even if your not a worrier you worry all the time.

being a parent is natures way of extracting revenge on what we did to ours. Just remember: some species do eat their young, some children should be on Planned Parenthood posters with a warning ¨This could be YOURS !" Enough cynicism. But if you do it halfway right it's great to have kids, but just because you can procreate doesn't mean you should, it's not a pet, it's a little person.

Nope. It involves physical pain, exhaustion, and emotional trauma. It's incredibly hard.
