Sometimes I go to visit my friend Teri. Her mom is usually home. I noticed the last few times I've been over, she tries to question me about my ancestry & whether or not I am Jewish

1. first, when I was introduced to her she said about my name, "that's Jewish, right?" (my name has a "man" in it)

2. I was wearing a silver cross necklace my grandma gave me & she said to me "that's a nice necklace, why are YOU wearing it?" and I told her & she said "oh, aren't you Jewish?"

3. I asked her why she thought I was Jewish & she said "oh, you look it." in a rather nasty way.

4. she asked me what countries my family is from and then said "are you sure about that?" like she didn't believe me.

Her daughter & I always get confused for sisters or twins, so, if I "look it," so must her daughter!

I am sure this family is not Jewish, so what's her deal? And why is it so important to her?

thanks guys!

Just tell her something like, "aren't we all Jewish either adopted or otherwise?" Maybe you and her daughter were adopted from the same Jewish family. That wouldn't be so bad would it now? A Jewish Catholic is pretty cool isn't it? Well God bless you princess, and get married soon and bring mama lots of children.

If all of your homecooked nutrition are vegetarian and their packed lunches are too, then there is not any authentic want to rigidity vegetarianism on your children. as long as they're conscious of the justifications to be vegetarian and characteristic a house environment the position they're regularly uncovered to vegetarian meals, it truly is sturdy adequate. ultimately, they'll attempt meat and characteristic to make their own judgements. in case you supply them perfect education and coaching and are not too pushy, they could a minimum of make suggested judgements about their nutrition options. Vegetarianism is meant to be a call, no longer a faith (which someone might want to really have the right to make a call for themselves).

I think she might be a neo-nazi. She probably doesn't like Jews. She sounds crazy and paranoid and is looking for an enemy. I think, unless you openly pray the our father or have an orgasm for Jesus she will continue to assume that you're Jewish and gather more "evidence" until she can prove to your friend that you're a dirty Jew and a member of the New World Order who intends to alert the alien nations that visited us in Egypt and built the pyramids that it is time to end humanity.

Have fun!

It sounds to me that she must be anti-semetic. When you said she keeps on asking and then said "oh, you look it!" in a really rude way, it nearly proves that she is racist against Jewish people.
Funny that in this day and age, someone like her is racist against Jewish people... lol Especially in America.
When you see her next time, ask her if she is German.

Why won't you just ASK her?
I can't possibly think of a reason why this mother wants you to be Jewish if she isn't. That is a bit weird.

Tell her you want to start your own Jew Pizza parlor.
(Cheese cannot be eaten in the same meal with any meat.)
If she asks you to do anything from sundown on friday to sundown sat tell her you are on Shabbat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shabbat
If they offer you any food ask if it's kosher
Start calling her (momzer) its a Jew who was born from a relationship that is forbidden under the Jewish Law.

Pure bigotry.

Whenever I brought a new friend home, the first question my mother asked was, ''What does her (his) father do?'' Then she asked about their family name, ''What kind of name is that? It doesn't sound American''. To my mother, blue eyed, light hair, and Anglo-Saxon Protestant was the top of the social rung.

It almost killed her that only the dark ''swarthy'' type interested me, I converted to Judaism, and I had a mind of my own.

I think this mother is the same type of person. Pity your poor friend.

She is nosy AND prejudiced against Jewish people. Why don't you ask her if she wants to talk to your parents about you being Jewish? That should shut her up.
