No one told me you needed a credit history to get a card and experience to get a job (only a degree for getting a job)

You can apply for a secured credit card. Basically, you give the bank a thousand bucks and they give you a card with a 500 dollar limit. But if you miss payment, they will not draw from the deposit, it will reflect on your credit rating as a missed payment. AND when they return the deposit, you get no interest, just your thousand bucks - the bank keeps the interest. Also, they will never change it to an unsecured credit card. You will have to reapply when you have an employment record and a better credit score. Aren't banks awesome?! *grumble grumble*

Whoa...you're very own financial enterprise would not provide you a card? Do you no longer have any money in any respect in reductions as collateral? attempt the web content some poeple propose, however the different decision (in case you may carry directly to the money and not spend it) is to stay with for a signature line of credit at your financial enterprise (ask for approximately 500-1000) in basic terms say you are going to by skill of a sparkling washing gadget and dryer or some thing. (yet do no longer somewhat) Then, in case you get the money, in basic terms pay off the interior maximum loan over a three-5 month era. as quickly as is cleared--BINGO, you have credit historic previous.

Don't get a credit card if you don't have a job. It will become a ***** to pay back, trust me.. I would know. I figured I'd be able to handle a $14.95 minimum payment per month, then I lost my job and now I'm $200 in the hole and Chase calls my house at least 10 times a day. It gets rather annoying. So you don't want to put yourself in that position.

First of all, you made a big boo-boo when you made it all the way through college without have a job. To answer your question, DON'T GET ONE! A credit card is a loan against your future income. If you don't have an income, you have no reason to get a credit card.

Well, the best way to approach this problem is get one of those "prepaid" credit cards. Shop around. One card wanted a $35 deposit, not refundable, before they gave you a credit card.

You can easily get one. First, try applying at some department store or regular store (Old Navy, Macy's, etc.) to build up your credit. Then, you can try to get a regular one.
