If you find the money for the game and it is not going to effect your other bills let her have the game. You might want to look at other places and see if you can find the game cheaper. Sometimes you can find stuff on ebay cheaper in the store, there are second hand stores for pc games, sometimes you can download them on your computer from the internet cheaper too. If she is old enough to understand the situation explain it to her. Let her know that she has to wait until you get the money to buy the game. You can wait to a holiday or birthday and make it a good suprise. Look around and explore all of the options and you might find it cheaper. The only way to spoil her is to give her everything that she wants when she asks for it. As long as you still know how to say no when it is appropriate you can't do no harm. It is not bad to give your children some of their hearts desires as long as you can afford to do it.

Well whats important is making her feel included just as much as her siblings. It can be very hard, especially financially and with allergies! Believe me I know from experience. Are you able to put the game on layaway? That might be an option, or try a store that sells used games and see if they have it there for cheaper. The other option is cut out something you dont need right now, maybe if you want something like new make up or and outfit, cut it out this paycheck and get her something special instead. Hope this helps some.

Have you tried FREECYCLE on yahoo groups? You just post your request, you might be suprised who in your area that has this game laying around not being used.

If you don't have the money,,,,,you don't have it. Depending on her age...she might be able to earn the money herself. She could go to your neighbors (that you are close with) and tell then she's raising money for this game she really wants and ask if she could sweep their porch, of rake their leaves. She could also have a yard sale to sell of some old toys she no longer wants or even a good ole lemonade stand (my boys actually earned $20 this way)

If her raising it on her own isn't an option....have her earn it from you. Give her extra chores and pay her 50cents a chore. You might be suprised where you can find 50cents (think car ashtray or hubbys pants) and she'll feel good that she earned the game.

P.S. It really isn't fair though that you forked over $40 for you son without making him work for it and his sister has to suffer. Even though sports are important, if he's old enough to play, he's old enough to earn the money.

Tell her to do extra chores around the house or grandparents house. She or he should learn the value of a dollar. I know it's hard to not get it for her but, it might backfire and she'll ask for something else soon after. This way she knows it takes working to earn an expensive game. Santa should only be responible for humble type gifts.
If not have her sell some old toys she doesn't play with anymore on ebay or yardsale this coming weekend and pay for it that way.

Awwww. It's so cute.

Can't you sort of, hold off for a few weeks? Months? Would that solve it? Or, maybe put a little aside here and there, then get it. How about making a little bank. And say, hey britta...i'm putting in a dollar for the barbie game. Then few days later, I'm putting in another two dollars. Then next week, week after, etc.???? Till you can afford it.

You gotta get her the game. she's too freakin' cute not to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seems that way to me. hehe But no one said you couldn't do it slowly. Right?

Go on Ebay.com and look for the game. You will find it cheaper than the regular price. Catch great deals on there. I found my step daughter all kinds of things. If you are hurting for cash then wait a bit. If she really likes it she will wait also. U can try limewire.com to see if the game is on there. You can download it for free. I downloaded Sims2 computer game for free of there for my niece. Hope this helps

From my experience, I have seen what computer games do to people. I have a brother in law who has ADD and depression, he stays locked up in his room all day with his computer!
I'm not against computer games, but make sure if you get it, to limit the time you let her play! Because it's scary what addictions come from playing games!
I would hold off on buying the game till you have extra funds! Trust me, things break down, go wrong, you name it, happens when you have no money! Just be careful with your money, because unfortunately it doesn't grow on trees!

Alright, I believe with all the other things going on in your life, to hold out for a little bit. Just wait until the right time and you have some extra cash to do so.

Put aside some money. Then, buy it. Or, better yet. Use the money you'd use to buy the game to give her allowance. Make her do basic chores to earn the money. Then when she has the right amount of cash, take her out to buy the game.

Have her earn it. You could give her a few bucks here and there for doing some extra chores. She could possibly even help out others with little things, like taking out the trash or walking dogs.
