Every woman is supposed to have a pap smear once a year after first menstruation. This is not anything to do with sex. This is a test to make sure that a woman does not have anything unusual that could be cancer or even a bacterial infection of some kind. It is a preventive measure such as a mammogram.

Most definatly PAPS check for more than just issues to do with people who are sexual active. They check for cancers and other potential problems that have nothing to do with sex.
