you don't, besides it is not MY standard of rules, it is God who created heaven and earth, you and me. He created our bodies so He is the ultimate authority on what is good and not good for them. Even a nonbelieving dietician (a knowledgable one) will tell you that eating scavengers, bottom feeders, pig and the like are not good for your body. You certainly won't go to hell for eating them whether you are a believer or not, but you might not live such a blessed and healthy life here.

Is that really in there? Don't eat shrimp, I've never heard that. What it does say is don't eat any fish without scales or fins so shrimp are OK. I think first you need to get your standard rules correct before you reject them. I know that and I'm not even a bible thump-er!

There is a big difference between Universal Law and Jewish Law... Universal Law is true for everybody for all time... Jewish Law however only applies to the Jews *( Shrimp for instance )*.. Where in the 10 commandments does it say DO NOT EAT SHRIMP? but yet as you can see it says DO NOT MURDER... hope that helps... Good question tho!

The law given through Moses was designed to not only protect a bunch of naive people from various health problems that they were ignorant of but also many were symbolistic of God's relationship to man. The way it works, you first figure out what you wanna do, then find a verse in Bible that tells you to do it.
