I used to be really fat, and recently I've lost weight. I'm really short though, so considering that I exercise and eat fairly healthily etc, and don't drink smoke or take drugs, is this the sort of weight I should be? I'm only five foot... but I can't give my exact weight because my mother threw away our scales in a fat period... All my friends seem to be skinnier than me, am I unhealthily overweight?

You are a very healthy, average weight. It is difficult for teenagers (especially girls) to tell if their weight corresponds to their height because girls mature differently at different times, plus there are so many different body styles for girls. It's easy to become over-alert to being overweight at any age because some girls during puberty are so very slim, but they usually become a much more average weight in their early 20s. I realize this answer is a long one, but it's nice to have some explanation. But yes, according to the information you have given (and it's difficult to give answers online), you are average, and not fat.

I think the fact that you have lost weight recently and exercise and eat healthily ( this if very important), and refrain from smoking and taking drugs, shows that your mind-set is great. The question is not so much are you average or fat, but do you feel good and have lots of energy, vim and vigor? Then stay the course!

Yeah, you'd be a uk length 6. regrettably you've the region of self-importance sizing, even as the type of inches on the garments would not tournament as a lot because the actual length of your hips/waist/chest. For e.g. I have a lot of denims that are 32-33, and my hips are actual 35 inches. Plus, many manufacturers have fullyyt diverse sizing structures.

A simple fairly cheap thing to do is get skin calipers. They can give a accurate measurement if used correctly. You can check your overall bodyfat percentage, and see if it's in a healthy range.
Do you think your weight limits the activities you do? Or your performance for athletics? If not, don't worry. Not eveyone has the same body type, don't compare yourself to your friends, compare yourself to where you are and where you have come from, and where you want to go... Slow gradual changes are the best, and if you eat healthy and are active, that sounds like the best plan...

That's an ideal sizet for your height. I'm 5ft2 and a size 10-12. It's probably not that your friends are skinnier than you, just that they are taller so they seem thinner. Well done for losing the weight and getting in shape. Take care : )

Well, if you want an official answer, then just calculate your BMI:

body weight kilogram / (body height meter) to the power 2

If you are the age of 16-30:
Normal: 20-24.9
over 25 is overweight.
