If a bird is frightened, like you step on its tail or grab it by the tail, it molts its tailfeathers. Once this happened with a bird of mine. I was so upset I started messing with the rump to see how bad it was, and more feathers fell out! They started growing back in almost no time, though.

What a lovable guy! i love his eye. besides, that does form of appear like a fungus to me. i might want to attempt some Listerine on it. Get the authentic aspect (unique yellow stuff), no longer the save sort and positioned it in a sprayer. positioned it on and use your hands to rub it into the floor. that is a fairly straightforward disinfectant and could kill any germ-ies residing in the area, and could no longer damage if it receives round on his bum slightly (even with the undeniable fact that it would want to tingle slightly, so be careful!) The worst imagine that could want to take position is you waste some money on a small bottle of Listerine. i apply it to my Andies tail and root of his mane at the same time as i visit't bathe in the iciness and he receives grungy, and also for summer time itchies from insects. i comprehend you're saying you do not see him rub, yet he would have some low grade something going that keeps the hair follicles from doing their aspect!

They should start growing back immediately. It should take about a week for you to be able to see the pinfeathers starting to break the skin. In 4 weeks, the growth will be complete.

They will grow back, just be patient. I raised them several years ago and they are really fun to be around. But let me tell you that the babies are the most ugly looking things, but within 3 months you can't tell them from the parents
