Like how come a person whos lived with cats all their life is fine at first but suddenly they can become allergic to them when their older?

The more you are exposed to anything, the more likely you are to become allergic to it.So all the things you use and are around start to be rejected by your immune system.

You can develop allergies at anytime of your life. You body has to become sensitized to a particular allergen. In your case, cat dander. Once sensitized you are allergic to it and you react when you are around cat dander. The sensitization process can happen at any time.
