Sorry but I don't agree with some of the people above me, long-distance relationships can work if both people really want them to. College has nothing to do with anything, because not everybody behaves like the stereotypical college student. I'm leaving for college soon an hour and a half away from my boyfriend, but I'm not worried because I have a good feeling about it and we have a great relationship. He's older (almost 23) and almost done with college himself so he's a bit more mature then guys my age. I myself am pretty mature for my age. Sure I will have a couple of drinks, but I would never go out and get drunk with people I don't know, that just leads to yucky situations. Also I'm not a slut like a lot of girls in college so I don't feel the need to sleep around, my boyfriend is all I'll ever need in that department.
So back to your sister....just be there for her. Reassure her that things will work out fine if they are meant to, that she can see him on breaks or on the weekends if he's close enough. Talking on the phone every night is a great idea also. When she's feeling down, be a listening ear and take her out for some fun to get her mind off of it.

first of all there is a big chance that it might not work, simply becuz he's going to college and u know what happens in college. Another thing, I've been a couple of long distance relationships. You really have to love the person and have to be committed and be ready to spend a lot of money to keep communication going. I persaonally would try to tell ur sister to move on with her young life.

No tragedy now. Every one have to go for own goods and future family. You get more education you get more opportunities to be somebody. More education = more money.
If it's real love what's the problem. Just be optimistic in and whatever the life brings you.
The problem now is what she can do with the empty time without
him - and hire is the problem how you are willing to help her with.
Try to share as much time with her and give her idea for some activities.

My cousin has a long-distance relationship with her boyfriend. They're being together since 3 years, but they were friends before. Maybe that's the secret: their friendship keeps together their love and trust...

Depends on how old your sister is. Because if she is old enough I would tell you to take her out for some drinks, let her get her mind off of him. You know, have a ball!! But if she is younger take her somewhere fun, and let her get away from everyone else. She will love it. Have fun!!

It depends on how far away he is and how strong their relationship is. If he is willing and able to see her on the weekends and school breaks, they should be fine. If he is across the country, there is very little chance it is going to work.

send her to the same college,....
get her to start dating someone new. guys are worse than girls, they're more vulnerable to temptation, and have next to no will power or self discipline. He'll be gone a couple months, and then his masculinity will take over and well,... you know.
