olive oil is good its been used since Biblical times howevever, what feeds the root is coconut oil. melt a little (a tablespoonful) and you can easily use it as a moisturiser for the hair and using it as a deep conditioning treatment (apply to shampooed towel dried hair and wearing it under plastic shower cap, apply heat from a hair dryer for 20 mins or so) do this once a week. it softens and conditions the hair beautifully, you'll feel the difference. olive oil is a quick solution but too much of it will get oil all over your pillows and car head rests and could be kinda 'soul glow' like...(remember the jeffersons or some film similar to that...there were the 'soul glow' sisters ...i think *wink*). protein treat your hair with a leave in conditioner like sunsilk or dove. it usually says 'no rinse' on the bottle. olive oil is a quick fix, but you're better off protein treating eat once a week in addition to coconut oil treatment (obtainable at chemists, tesco's, holland and barrats, anywhere its usually just under a pound). protein treatments are cheap but work well for 'emergency' treatments, try savers or tesco's for one off treatments. Good luck.

Sure, it's safe. Leaving it in for 5 - 15 minutes and covering your hair with a moist towel will also help to soften. You'll have to shampoo well to remove. Funny as it may sound, Mayonnaise is great as a moisturizer for hair! Use same technique.

I'm sure that works, but I have a better idea.
Go to your local health food store and get a little bottle of Jojoba oil. Squirt a little into a nice hot bath and luxuriate in it. you can shampoo afterwards and your hair will be really healthy and shiny. Your skin will also get moisturized and be soft.
