I've tried it, only in batter though, it tasted okay just not as meaty as cod, try it you might like it.

Hake isn't a substitute for Cod, like Pork is not a substitute for Beef. Hake is a white fish with a great taste, usually fried as fillets or cutlets or baked whole. Most of the Hake we catch ends up in Europe. The Spanish are particularly fond of it.

Hake is a very nice fish and I've been eating it for years, I wouldn't say it was just a cod substitute

hake is a good substitute for cod.
Its is white flesh fish and flakes the same way as cod when cooked.

I used to eat it a lot by choice before cod became over-fished, I have not had it in 10 years due to vegetarianism but it was a tasty fish before I stopped eating it.

It's a really tasty fish, don't knock until you try. Pan fried or grilled with some fresh veg is a really tasty supper

tried it a while back and it doesnt really taste of anything, cod for me.
