The law of intestate succession will govern (states defacto law) if there is no will. What that law is depends on what state your in. You need to find a lawyer to open the succession for you. If she has no decendent's, parents, or surviving spouse then it usually goes to the closest collatral. Being her sister you are her second degree collateral.

As her sole surviving relative, you will get the estate once the state takes its share. Be sure to get some legal assistance - it will be more than worth it.

firstly, you need to find out if she even made a will. if she has, then you will need to get in contact with a solicitor to locate it. the will would probably have been made in the town/state that she was living in. you could also try going through her personal papers if you haven't already done so. very sorry for your loss

First, I'm sorry for your loss.

Did she have a lawyer? Contact him/her if she did, they would most likely have it.

If she didn't have a lawyer, contact a probate attorney to discuss with them what your next step is. Good luck to you! : )

If you know where she lived, the state at least, you could do a vital records search. If not, ask a Mormon to help with genealogy. Seriously, they are big into that and they are nice people. (well most are)
