A whole week of red sounds like a little much for toddlers. But if you do have to do red for a whole week I would consider adding sub themes, red foods (probably for 2 days, toddler love food), red clothes and/or objects, red art, and red sensory or textures.
There are tons of red fruits and veggies out there that you can paint with, taste, make juice or popsicles, etc.
For art you can use red paints, markers, crayons, paper, bleeding tissue paper.
For objects you can have them wear it, bring it in, find it, play games with it, red ribbon making and dancing, or even just replicate red objects through art.
For sensory there is red play dough (which I would suggest making because it's the process not the product), red goop, red sand, red shaving cream (mix paint and shaving cream), color the water in the watertable red.
Your options and activities can be limitless, just use your imagination and what you world like to do if you were their size (touch, feel, taste, smash, make a mess, discover)!

What does a 24 month old need to learn about "red" beyond, "this is red?" Like they might not catch on later if they don't practice enough? Hug them, dance with them, give them a dolly. It doesn't have to be complicated. Sheesh. Are they having a Red Test at the end of the week?
Less nasty, maybe a version of red light/green light with something red to look at. Still don't think a baby needs a "teacher" so much as a mommy.

This website that might help you:
http://www.kinderart.com/littles/colors.shtml
You could place red objects hidden around the classroom and have the children find them.
If all else fails, try searching on Yahoo! and MSN for "teaching tips for preschoolers" or "teaching preschoolers color"

How about using red flowers and leaving a white carnation in some red water (food colouring) over night and see if the petals change colour?
If you can find out what the flowers represent... red rose for your lover etc... it would add another dimension.
