Exercise. Nobody likes that answer, but it is the best. Consistent exercise helps counterbalance the imbalance. You feel more control and are able to harness that energy into something positive.

Dude, drugs are not the first answer for any mental health issue. Ask about massage, acupuncture, talk therapy and even eeg biofeedback (neurofeedback). You really do need to talk to a guidance counsellor or doctor first. If they recommend meds first ask your parents to take you to another doctor for a second opinion. Then, ask to see a psychologist or a psychiatrist before you let them put you on meds. Try to work your way through it and only accept meds if an EEG reading on you head indicates that is your best choice and only option. As a person who was shy and insecure as a teen, who grew into the life of the party kind of person, I would also recommend you fall somewhere in between. The life of the party guys like I was, usually get last pick of the ladies... Good luck.

yoga, exercize in general, a healthy diet, and spending time outside. I used to get panic attacks, and once I developed a healthier lifestyle and learned better coping strategies through a therapist I have beaten my anxiety without the use of pharmeceudicals. It's highly possible and I strongly recommend trying any availible option before taking medication.

"rescue remedy" from Bach flowers helps me. also reflexology works very well. or just a long hot bath with aromatic oils and some relaxing music.
or try to eat better food, stay away from people that makes you stress out, sleep at least 7 hours a night, make sure to take breaks from work to clear your mind, maybe get away for a few days?
good luck! if you find some other good ideas i might just use them myself..

The most effective tool at your disposal is, your own mind. If you learn to control it, there is much it can do for you, rather than against you!
