You can try entering a driving school or try this website: http://www.drivertrainingtoday.co.uk/
You can also enter some driving courses or get a family member to teach you. Driving is not hard. As with everything in life, it takes practice. Rome was not built in a day. So just take it easy and don't freak out. Take control and take charge. If you have any question, don't hesitate to ask and do not experiment. Do not do trial and error because there is no trial and error format with your life. You get me? I hope you master this driving. Good luck.

the first thing to do with fear is face it ,and i dont mean jump in a car and drive i mean learn more about it ,
learn the highway code ,know where the petrol and water go ,read books on how a car works ,and once you know all this it wont look as frightning,if need be book a lesson and tell the instucter today you just want to sit in the car for 30 mins ,after all you are paying for it ,and when sitting there talk to him all about your fears ,they are very understanding and its better for you too as you get to know each other a little bit too,so you are now friends ,and not just strangers ,this will help you feel better about things ,then your instucter will take things much more slower with you ,knowing your fears ,but i bet you will end up passing first time and wounder what all the worrying was for ,that is usually the case.
anyway, once you have learnt all you can aboout a car and how it work you will probably be more knowlageble than most, and i wish you all the luck in the world ,i just wish more people were as fearfull as you then we might have some carefull drivers on the roads instead of the nutters that ive come across, good luck.

My son was in your situation. When he was 25,he hired a driving instructor. The instructor went out with him at times that were less traveled. They started in the neighborhood and when he was comfortable with that, they went on the regular city streets and then the interstate. When he did it this way, it built up his confidence so that the next step didn't seem as scary. If you hire someone who is good, they will have patience with you until you can do it on your own.Just be up front and tell them what you need to begin with. Good luck to you.

i am 28 and completely understand. The thought of driving terrifies me. I decided I am going to get my license though. It is just a fear I have got to overcome. I actually got my license when I was 16 through a driving school. I only drove 3 times(in Dallas, Tx metroplex). Once it was raining. Once it was dark. And the other time it was dark and raining. They passed me because my parents paid and I showed up everyday. At that time in Texas you took your driving test through the driving school. I haven't driven since I got my license. I no longer have it. I just have a state ID. Thank you. You made me feel not as odd.

Driving school, then someone with lots of patience to help you along. You'll do fine. Just look at some of the people out there that are driving.

yes I'm 20 and rode the bus my whole life we recently moved to a place where the public transportation doesn't go to very many places. i now have to depend on my mother to drive me places and it makes me feel like a failure. i have tried learning but i just get so scared and i get panic attacks. i would love to learn how to drive and feel that feeling of independence but i cant break free of the terrifying feeling i get every time i get behind the wheel. i hope people give you some good answers on what to do because i need them too. good luck to you

It's embarassing to admit, but persons who are afraid of driving are invariably female. I've met several women who are afraid to drive but never a man who was afraid.
It may be part of the female upbringing (learned helplessness goes a long way sometimes.)

just relax, concentrate and use common sense (i.e. stop at stop signs, green light means go, dont run into parked cars). the best thing to do is go in the country (outside of town) and drive on country roads. works like a charm. and remember DONT GET NERVOUS!!!
