For about 4 months,I've been taking 20mg Stilnoct nightly(and 150mg Efexor XL daily...since last Sept).I have ptsd and major depression.I find the Stilnoct only works when I take 1 beer also. Are there any long term health risks?(am struggling with suicidal ideation at times, which is why I only have 1 beer). Also,if someone used to 10mg Stilnoct can survive overdose of 400mg(40 times daily limit),would that automatically double for someone taking 20mg daily?

Ok first off the medical limit for that drug is 400mg, so just because u take 20mg doesnt meen you can instantly survive 800mg worth it dont work like that. Second if your trying to beat suicidal ideation.....STOP THINKING ABOUT STUFF LIKE THAT!! i know you cant help it but think of it like this everyone in there life has thought about suicide no matter who you are. Now takeing both of those medications isnt good, ask your physician to see if you can get a drug that can treat both effects. I belive why you might have to take a beer with it is well it might not be the medication helping you it might be just the beer, i know beer makes me happy when i drink it. But also it can be helping the depression in the long run. As i said main thing is try to talk to your physician or shrink whom ever is prescribing you these mediacations and tell them about that, and come to a mutual point where both parties are happy. Them keeping you on meds and you not haveing to worry about all this stress and depression in life.

my mom has been in and out of a mental hospital and she is frankly not as nutty as you seem.
I think you need locking up with your "suicidal ideations" before you kill yourself. she gets heavy psychotic meds when she is in the joint to where she sits and drools, but at least she is manageable that way.
good luck
