Once you have made your sauce, you can put it in glass jars...make sure the jars are clean and sterile. When you put the NEW lids on make sure they are the same. seal the lids and let them set to cool.......you can tell if they are sealed if when they cool they will have a little pop sound. then the center of the lid will be indented.

Hi JustJenn! Were you needing to can apple sauce or spaghetti sauce? Applesauce cans just fine, but for spaghetti sauce I prefer to leave the herbs out until you open, heat and serve it because the herbs go off color and tend to get bitter. I would recommend that you find a copy of the Ball Canning Book and follow the directions given there. My best tip is to keep all counters, jars, rings, lids and utensils used sterilized and keep all canning jars and rings hot for the canning process this prevents spoilage and helps the jars to seal correctly. If you have the freezer space, both sauces freeze well and is far less work.

If your mom, sister, aunt, friend cans, watch them and ask for tips. Ask them for favorite recipes.
