Well, if the pool is still open I'd say it's OK.

Is the E Coli warning for this particular pool? If so then stay away! If the E Coli warning is for other pools or lakes then you're probably fine. Try not to swallow water if you can.

You can, but it is highly not recommended.
E. Coli bacteria typically live in the intestine (if a human is exposed to it).
In a pool, people can transfer bacteris very easily, because they're entire body is in the water.
Also, a pool is an optimal place for bacteria to live, it is moist, temperature is perfect, there is "food" because of people and the bacteria that accompany them to the pool, and there are plenty of dark places around a pool that bacteria can live.
I wouldn't reccommend it. =)
Hope this helps.

A pool? Don't know. A lake... if there's been E-coli found in it you can't.
But they don't shut down everything containing water when it's been found someplace else.

I would really have to re-consider that thought. You don't know how much of the chlorine that is added is really going to kill E. Coli.
