Jesus will judge all of mankind. I don't want His job. The Bible clearly states that you have to believe in order to have eternal life in God's kingdom. John 5:29 says, "Then they will come out of their graves. Those who did good will rise and have life forever, but those who did evil will rise to be judged guilty."

Everybody who dies stays dead in a way. The maggots eat the body. The body decomposes. It becomes part of the world around it. In that way the body does live on.
Christians on the other hand, think that you fly up to heaven where an old man with a beard plays harp to you.

Arguably, they are dead right now. Because to accept the free gift of salvation is to be born into life. And before that happens, we are all dead, for all intents and purposes.
At least this is the way that I understand salvation.
As for the question of whether or not atheists stay dead after their bodies die, I couldn't tell you. It is a "requirement" that a person be saved in order for him or her to know God at the end of time. However, Jesus does say, "For my father, all things are possible" in relation to a question about the afterlife.
So, my answer is: No idea.

NO, they also will be resurrected. They will have the opportunity to get to learn about God since they obviously didn't during this life. If they, however, blasphemed against the holy spirit, then no they won't be because that is the one unforgivable sin. For the wages sin pays is death, he who dies is pardoned of his sins. Hell is the common grave of mankind, all who die go there with the exception of those of the little flock, they go to heaven to rule as priest and kings with Jesus, all others are, the other sheep not of this fold, they will live on earth with everlasting life.

They are no different than Christians in that regard.
The body dies and then there is judgement. Both for believers and non-nbelievers.
So, my point is that there is heaven and hell for Christians and non-Christians are no different.
It will be hell because the non has no way of repenting or seeking frgiveness as the "believer" does.
It isn't rules for christians but for everybody.
Something will happen. you won't just "stay dead" and be out of reach of judgement, if that was the question.

Yes and you know what I bet you do to. That is unless you can show me positive proof that someone died and came back a week or so later fully intact, with no problems and ready to go back to work.
What really gets me is so many people think they have all the answers to everything. This is one question that even the Christians don't have the REAL answer to, they just have that Faith answer which is no proof at all.

Death is the opposite of life. When people die, they stay dead. No going to heaven. no going to hell. they are just dead. aka: non existant.

From the New Testament (what Christians believe), it is written that those who do not accept God and Christ will not be accepted into heaven but instead will be thrown into hell.
Not my words, but you asked...

Yes they have no life in them. They go to hell. I'm sorry that sounded so bad and rough but I'm just telling you the truth.

There are two destinations after human death: heaven or hell. Those who know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior go to heaven. Those who reject Jesus will go to hell.
Atheists believe neither in God nor Jesus.
