For abut 3 or 4 days one of my ears has been doing this zipping like sound. I want to know what this is. I'ts sort of sounds like stepping on a loose board. What should I do?

I would try to make an appt with a ear doc to be on the safe side.

call your docter im not sure about the sound that u described but i know when i listen to my ipod for a long time afterwards i hear like a high pitched buzzing sound but it always sound like its coming from a distance...

You may have some fluid behind your eardrum. But I'd go see a doctor if I were you and have it checked out.
