I didn't used to think much about Canada. Didn't like or dislike the country - it was just there to the north of us. Then I took a week's vacation in Vancouver and decided that Canada was a cool place.

A year later, I started a dating a wonderful French Candian who showed me a lot of his country. What a beautiful land! Not that this US isn't pretty, but there are places in Canada that take my breath away! The culture and history is facinating, esp. when you get into the dual British-French roots of the country and the tensions that still exist. But how cool is it to have a country with not one but TWO offiical languages? Then, on a shallow note, there is the shopping. I LOVE the chain stores in Canada cuz they have stuff I can't get in California.

I think Canada is a beautiful country. I've been to Canada about a little over a decade ago to Ontario. I even saw Niagara Falls. When I went there, it was in late fall. I loved the foilage on the leaves, just as I do here in the USA, come fall. The people are nice and friendly. And lots of TV movies and movies are shot there for locations, like Lifetime. It's good for tourism. There's so much to explore and lots to see their culture. I love to go back there some time and head over to the British Columbia and Quebec area. Plus, Canada's our ally.

I think it is a great country, full of natural beauty, friendly people. The climate is nice on Vancouver Island but a little too brisk on the mainland in the winter for my taste. I think it is a wonderful vacation destination. I have been all over British Columbia, Alberta, Newfoundland and New Brunswick. When I am fully retired I plan to spend the summer months in my motor home exploring the country further.

It doesn't really enter my thoughts. When I went there to visit, the people were noticably polite. It seems like Canada just stays out of everyone's way and minds its own business. I never hear about Canada getting into any trouble.

I've always liked Canada pretty much. Hockey is great and Montréal is one of my favorite cities. I also thought Bob and Doug McKenzie were pretty cool too for a while back there in the 80s.

A great neighbor, and a great nation. All nations in the world should get along as well as Canada and the U.S. A great trading partner, and a partner in the war against terror. Sure, we have differences of opinion, but we respect each other.

I love Canada. Very progressive and great health care. Beautiful scenary, too. My grandparents married there but unfortunately my mom was born in US, otherwise I'd might try for dual citizenship.

Reading all the glowing responses reminds me why we moved to Canada from the U.S. many years ago; we now have dual citizenship. We love living here: http://thetravelzine-torontosc.spaces.live.com/
