It's best to have something from each food group at every meal.
Ex/
Breakfast --- I boiled egg or poached (meat), I slice of toast w/butter or jam (grain and fruit, dairy), 8-10 oz. of Tomato juice (vegetable) if you use jam on toast you can always add an ouce of cheddar or half cup of yogurt for dairy.
mid morning snack --- apple / orange or half a banana --- something small but healthy.
Lunch -- 1/2 cup vegetable soup, 1/2 bagel w/peanut butter ( 1 tbsp - meat supplement), Large glass of juice, I c cottage cheese.
afternoon snack -- peice of fuit / vegetable sticks -- again healthy snacks.
Supper -- 2-4 oz. of meat (lean, no fat), 2 c. steamed veggies, Medium baked potato or 1c. rice or 1 c. pasta (if pasta, no more than 1/2 c. sauce) --- desset -- you choose -- if not fruit, but something fattening, just watch the amount your eating -- 1/2c. ice cream, small slice of cake or pie.
Evening snack -- something light -- Ic cereal with 1/2c milk -- fruit. maybe veggies --- your choice, again just watch the proportions.
Drink lots of water through out the day. You can still have pop or coffee, just limit the anount.
The proportions i have listed is what i was told from a nutritionist, but these are best suited for me, what everyone needs varies on the individual.

The best thing to do is go for a healthy diet forget all these fad diets. Believe me i have tried everything possible. The first thing to do is you need to do cardio at least once a day for six days a week. Plus you need to add weight. No with regards to nutriontion it all depends on your size and weight. You need to calculate how many calories you burn a day lets say 2000 cal. You then baisically deduct let say 500 cal from you diet. Your diet should consist of protien, carbs and fat. For example for breakfast you can have egg omlette with one whole egg and two egg white. You can add green pepper, mushroom, spinach or any vegtable to your eggs with one wholemeal toast and a cup of coffe. For lunch you can eat one grilled chicken breast with a serving of steamed vegtables and brown rice. For dinner you can have a salad with tuna but make sure the tuna is water can tuna not oil and a low fat dressing. you also should add two snack like a protien shake for one and cottage chesse and rice cakes for another. Try this book called eating for life by bill phillips it had recipes and will help you create menus for you diet.

Exercise 4-6 days a week. At least 200 minutes of cardio a week. Watch what you eat. Eat breakfast every day. Keep an exercise log. Keep a food Log.Toss some protein shakes in there. That is what I did and I am down 15lbs in 12 weeks.
Good luck
