I have a buddy from the UK who loves Stella Artois. However, there are SO MANY beers in Europe that are rated higher than Stella. Check out RateBeer.com and BeerAdvocate.com to learn which ones are rated high.

in the united kingdom i imagine there are quite a few tremendous beers. Adnams Broadside, Marstons Pedigree, or Timothy Taylors Landlord yet i might want to bypass miles and miles for a pint of Bathams and it sells out in my interior sight so immediately you'll want to to hurry down there every time a 9 is further. regrettably they don't produce a lot so this not often occurs. Stella is mass produced garbage in my opinion. Hoegaarden in Belgium became once tremendous yet because that they moved the brewery it sort of feels to flavor diverse.

Stella is basically the Belgian equivalent to Budweiser. Though a pleasant and easy drinking beer, it does not really demonstrate the complexities of most Belgian beer.

Stella Artois aka Skunk Beer is horrible!! They are a big sponsor of Sundance Film Festival and I always end up at some crappy Skunk beer party in Park City because of it! Eek!

I'll take a Heineken over Stella any day!

As always, the "best" of anything is subjective. I once learned from a brewer, that the best beer is what YOU enjoy. There are 100s of different versions of beer, and in Germany alone there are 1.200 breweries and over 7.000 brands.

But, in order to kind of answer this question, I have always enjoyed Pilsner Urquell from the Czech Republic. Also, Kronenbourg 1664 is an excellent lager.

Stella is not even close to the best beer in Belgium. Just go next door to Luxembourg and try a Simon Pils.

It might be the best selling beer because it's so cheap and readily available. Budweiser's like this for the same reason. It does not mean they are good beers. In fact, they aren't.
