Yes. Atheism sure can't do such thing because it's the minority. Since Christian are the majority, the majority is more likely to effect what happens in the world, and human's religion will bring the downfall of the world.

The media might have us skeptics believing its a vast theocratic conspiracy. The truth is the radicals get the most airtime, and are the loudest around us. Think about it, when was the last time you heard someone fervently yelling in the street for moderate beliefs? The common man is secure enough with his personal beliefs to not be swayed by big-wig church politics, its just not in vogue. "Buffet" Christianity is the order of the day, where believers pick and choose what they want to believe and what not to. While this can lead to people focusing on the peaceful, passive, loving facets of Christ, the extreme which we hear screamed at us is all the fire and brimstone BS. Religion is an overly simplistic way of looking at the arriving downfall of the US, but that's not to say our democracy won't heal in time.

Religion is just another reason why America has so many problems. Race, sexuality, social status, gender, all cause friction in America. Is America getting worse? Worse than half of the country breaking away and fighting itself, or worse than violent civil rights demonstrations across the country? America has its good times and its bad times. But I believe the world, USA included, is becoming a better place.

Yes America is getting worse.
Morality is going down.
They teach classes now on how to be ethical. Can you imagine?
Now it's do as you please.
Don't tell me about how to behave.
The God idea is a joke.
Go for the gusto.
Get all you can.
That religion is a joke.
The religions have failed to do what they were supposed to do.
Why, they bent to what the people wanted.
In the old days the pastor talked with you about a problem you were seen to have. If you didn't address the problem, out you go.
Get out, that is how they handled it. Then all the people that knew you told the other people they knew, you were thrown out.
You became a piece of crap.
In very old days it was called excommunication.

Yes, religion will bring America's downfall. I've always felt that religion is the root of all the evil in the world nowadays. It's fine to be spiritual and believe in a Higher Power, but to kill over it is SO hypocritical.

It's not America that's getting worse, it's religion and religious beliefs and religious followers that are bad, and some are getting worse. The current war on terror is just another Holy War.
President George W Bush has made it clear that he reads the Bible, prays to God, and that God told him to invade Iraq. Very recently he referred to the USA’s war against terror as a war against Islamic Fascists. The other side, the Islamic Fascists, of course refer to G W Bush and the USA as Christian Infidel Dogs and so the Holy War of Words go on, like good Christians at war against the Axis of Evil.
The above is quite mild to all the evil religious words being thrown by each side, but of course, it doesn’t stop there does it. The same sides, Christianity and Islam, are physically at war with each other, murdering innocent men, women and children in the process.
Humanity has a horrific track record of atrocities and killing caused by religion, and this war seems to be no different, just another Holy War in the name of religion, inflicting it’s madness once again onto humanity. Religion is so evil, it has even infected the President of the United States of America.

Religion may be the down fall of the US, and the rest of the world. Especially regarding the Zionists and their ilk, and the extreme destabilization they have caused to the Middle-East and world over the past 60+ years. We must fight these bible-beating fools, before they permanently impair Uncle Sam. I implore anybody with half a brain to openly criticize and belittle religion, religious people, religious practices, etc. If somebody starts quoting bible stuff to you, tell them to go to hell! We can defeat the theists, but we must unite and be strong and endure.
