I have heard of Peebles as I was born and brought up in Scotland.
Its fairly near the border of Scotland and England and its in Scotland.
A lot more info can be found here

Nowhere can be as bad as Basingstoke and Bracknell.

How bizarre.
For the benefit of non-natives, Peebles is a quaint town in the Scottish borders, surrounded by aforested hills.
It has a number of nice hotels, a castle (Niedpath) and river walks.
Easy commuting distance to Edinburgh and a slow pace of life.
The 14 year old Kevin who asked ths is probably into Death Metal and girls dressed like vampires.
Yeah Kevin.
Like, soooo depressing.

I drove through it recently on my way to the beautiful countryside of Northumbria the most north easternly part of England - it was absolutely lovely - Northumbria I mean. Peebles looked as though it had got stuck in the 18th Century!
