I just flew this past weekend to NC. The only thing NOT allowed are gels and liquids. Everything else is ok (obviously not a bomb or a knife) like cameras, laptops, cell phones, MP3 players, clothing, shoes, etc.
I did bring on gels and liquids, but I checked those in a small bag.

Yes you can take your digital camera, not only in your checked luggage, but also in your carry on as well. To avoid having your checked luggage opened and searched while it is en route to the baggage compartment in your plane, dont stack things like books on top of eachother, space them out. Also anything electrical, or dense like your hairbrush, shaving kit etc. If you have a lot of camera equipment or laptop equipment packed in your normal suitcase with your clothes, space them out as well not only to protect your stuff from being slammed around during transportation and flight, but also so when they scan your bag they can clearly see each item. When you stack a bunch of dense stuff together it is harder for them to see clearly what it is on the little black and white screen, thus requiring your baggage to be opened and examined, then piled back in. (they will leave a note saying it was searched.) Likewise if u lock your luggage they are authorized to cut all locks. Use Zip ties if you need to.
But, as far as i know all thats banned is liquids and gels from carry on, as well as the normal banned items. Also x ray will not damage your digital camera.

As of right now they are allowed. Now, that could change if security issues come up again. There is a web page you can check to see what is and isnt allowed. It is www.tsa.gov. This is maintained by the Transportation Security Administration and will have up to date information. Have a good flight!

a lifeless ringer for what's the staggering digicam? it really is my advice. flow to a shop that sells Lowepro and various of different manufacturers. verify all of them out and decide for your self. positioned them on your back. shop in concepts, it must be tender to boot as shelter your equipment. for my area i exploit a Tamrac. Yeah i recognize, inferior. Fell off a cliff 2 years in the past and landed on my back (that may be the position my equipment and backpack were), not something damaged contained in the backpack. wish I were in there with the equipment. solid sufficient for me.

yes..
Check the TSA website for any prohibited items, also check with your airline as they may have more stringent restrictions than the TSA.

Nope. From what I just heard, you can't bring anything on a plane.
