It is not a good idea, the reason is the cholrine in the water could agitate the infection further or cause extra complications related to it.

Have the child stay out of the pool until the infection has cleared. The pressure will cause more pain, and the water getting into the ears might cause the infection to linger. You should have the child finish the antibiotic first before swimming, and care should be taken when he/she is taking a bath as to not get water into the ears.

not the best of ideas. swimming pools are full of bacteria (yes, even with the chlorine), and any bacteria that gets into the child's ear may cause the infection to be worse. if the child isnt going to submerge their head underwater then swimming is ok, but any submerging of the head will just introduce more bacteria into the ear. you should wait until your child's infection has cleared up and then allow them to go swimming.

Not a good idea. the water will settle into the ear and cause more irritation because of bacteria build up AND Chlorine. It's best to wait until the infection clears up and get them ear plugs to keep another one from occuring
