Not if the "followers" don't live by what they profess to believe!

Kindness matters. Simple things, as stated in this poem...

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

In a sense I guess it does, in the larger aspect anyways. The difference between Jews, Muslims, and Christians is a large difference and could affect a person's getting to Heaven. I am a Christian, but I would not say religion matters in the Christian faith. You have to believe that Jesus died for you, but it doesn't matter if you're Baptist, Catholic, Church of Christ or any other Christian religion.

we use words to express our selves,religion is just another word,"doing"not talking about it,working for the betterment of earth itself,and everything that lives here,no matter what that maybe,no matter how much that goes against the grain,if you live for 100 years or more,it is only but a grain of sand,in the scope of things,the trouble is we all have egos,and the way were brought up through life dictates,how we act in any given situation.

There are several different religions, so I have no idea which one you are talking about. I am Christian, and to us it matters a great deal. I will not argue religion to anyone, to each his own.

apparently so. ask a religious question and the religious start fighting so yes it matters because it starts wars.
that is the only problem.
ask an unbiased question about christianity and step back quickly, even yahoo jump in with violations so yes religion does matter even for an atheist like myself.

Religion is, if nothing else, a series of tools to accomplish a series of tasks, usually to instill morality (and occasionally authority) on a group of people. That matters. Whether or not it's a good thing or not is something to be debated.

religion really does matter as it tends to form our way of life and how we manage it and conduct our self in terms of standards behaviour dress and how we live and treat others . This countrys laws and goverment is based on the Christian religion which is slolwy disapearing from our society as we are becoming more atheist

No, (religion) does not matter for there are many to choose from..

But this I will tell you, there is the Christ in Heaven who longs to save you, he died for you so that you might have eternal life.

There is power in the shed blood of Christ to save your soul. His blood availeth for you if you would only believe on Him, repent and ask Him to be lord of your life.

He is a real person to be sought, he said 'If you seek Me with all of your heart you will find me'

You see it is not a religion you need, it is HIM, a personal relationship with the Son of the Living God.

Humble yourself before Him and ask Him to reveal Himself to you.

I guarantee if you are real with Him He will be very real with you.

You have not even began to live until you meet with Him, for in Him do you live and have your being. He is the most Faithful person you will ever meet, he said I am Faithful and True.

There is only one way, and that is through Jesus Christ, he is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The Bible states that 'every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord' Blessed be his Name Forever.

He is who you are looking for.

Take care

Religion does not matter. Faith is what counts. You can be of any religion, but if you have faith in God as your creator and accept Jesus Christ as your personal saviour, then that is what counts.
