Yes, the Sunday School lesson was on family and what each person can do to show love in their family.
The sermon was from the scripture about the prodigal son. Except the pastor preached about our being forgiving of people who have gotten theirselves into the pigpen, not waiting until they are back in the father's arms to love them. We shouldn't be so quick to judge someone because of their circumstances in life. Even if it's their own fault. What's important is the person, not their circumstances. You don't have to agree with what they are doing in order to love them, pray for them, and try to help. We must love our neighbors as ourselves, even the mean, selfish, self-centered ones.

It was on the reading for the day, the reading on the Unmerciful Servant. We use the Greek lectionary. It differs from the Common Lectionary used by the Church of Rome and most Protestant Churches. Rather than read the bible in three years of Sundays, it is compressed into about 47 weeks but split over the regular days. Since Christians generally do not attend every day, this has the unfortunate effect of taking many years to hear all of the scriptures.

The sermon was about how mankind keeps focusing in more nd more on self, and less and less on God. The teacher suggested we should spend less time at myspace.com and more time examining the creation to learn of the Creator, what he dubbed MYSPACEinGOD.
