I bought a power strip and plugged my TV into that. I put the strip next to the TV where I can reach it. Then I can turn it off at night. TVs and other systems still use power when turned off (powered down). They may uses as much as 20% of the power they use when operating when you turn them "off". So I shut the TV completely down.
I don't do this for items that have a clock, like my VCRs, but anything else can be turned ALL the way off when not in use.

If you're from Kentucky, follow these instructions carefully:
1. Grab your shotgun (don't worry, it's already loaded).
2. Take square aim at the center of the television.
3. Hold the gun steady as you slowly pull the trigger.
4. Don't be alarmed by the loud noise and flying glass and plastic.
5. Unplug the television, to minimize the risk of electrocution or fire (Or should you have done that at Step 1? I can't remember - too much whiskey!).
Congratulations! The deed is done. You have turned off the TV!

ok...um what a dum @ss question. if ur normal, u either press the on/off button on the tv, or that button on the remote. but it duznt seem like ur all that normal, so i dont think i can help ya. lol thanx for the 2 pnts!
