how do you use a headband?

Question

I have super straight meduim length hair, and am soo Bored with it. I usually keep it down, And yesterday I bought these headband things from scruncii similiar to this

(the stretchy fabric-ness) and I was wondering how do you use them? I tried to put it in and it pushes my tapered hair back to look like its flared-_-


and does anyone have any other hairstyle ideas? I cant seem to do alot with my thick, stick straight hair

also, does it look bad to wear a thick headband yet have a few side bangs hanging? I was going to wear my hair like that the other day but my mom laughed at me for missing the point of wearing a headband. is that just a mom thing? lol

I think the headband is great when in a rush. It is all in the cut, I have long thick straight hair and can't get perms or it turns to frizz. The salon can razor cut it, layer it, or put these hidden notches in it to give it some lift and body. You can lift it around the roots with a gel, blow dry your hair upside down, and teasing it can help too.

You could try tying it up into a bun like this. I have really thick hair, too, and know how difficult it can be to control. Mine's curly, so I just let it loose with some curl creme. But, have you had yours layered? It instantly adds interest.

you could try putting your hair in a low pony and putting the head band around your head (like from above your forhead to the back of your neck) i love doing that, it always looks so cute and fresh! good luck!

You could braid your hair or put it in a messy pony tail or change your part occasionally, or curl it or get a different style or get it colored or something like that.
